On Learning Load Testing Tools

Load testing is easy… until it isn’t

I remember my first days with JMeter a few years back – I literally spent 2 weeks on reading the documentation – which both introduced me to load testing concepts as well as the internal workings of the tool. Followed by 2 full-day training I could finally create something resembling a working load test.

Years have passed and I’m still learning new test approaches – only now I can modify the source code to my needs and do some parkour, including building a mock server for exotic transports.

Now load testing is a mere fraction of my daily job but I get to show others how to do things faster and better. Something I wished I had access to when I started.

What are your experiences with load testing tools?
